How to use:
- 1. Clean your driveway or patio with a power washer and our BergPro surface cleaner a few days before
- 2. Make sure it’s completely bone dry on the day you want to seal
- 3. Pour into a CLEAN, dry bucket and grab a Berg Pro brush
- 4. Mix in any BergPro Colour Tint or BergPro Anti-Slip if you need it
- 5. Brush across the concrete surface in thin layers
- 6. Wait 4 hours to walk on it (Give it a couple of days before driving on it)
Coverage & amounts:
One litre typically covers around 4 to 5m². If your surface is in a bad condition or more porous, you’ll need a little more.
Most seals and re-seals require two coatings.
Top tips & tricks:
- Wait until a completely dry day to apply, with no rain forecast
- Blow or brush the surface before you apply – don’t use any water
- Too hot or too cold? Wait another day. Imprinted concrete sealer works best in temperatures between 8 and 20°C
- Keep your brush moving around so you don’t let the sealant pool and congeal
- Don’t apply your 2nd coat of concrete sealer too soon. Make sure it’s dry or you’ll leave footprint marks.
- Don’t put rock salts on sealers. It can help let water in and break the seal.
- Your seal should last for 3 to 5 years. Pop a fresh coast of sealer on then to keep your driveway or patio looking sparkling new.

Frequently asked questions
What are the benefits of a matt concrete sealer?
A matt concrete sealer will protect your driveway or patio
from damage and help it last longer. The matt sealer gives a softer subtle
finish to preserve and show off the natural pattern imprinted concrete
underneath.
How does this sealer protect my concrete drive?
Sealing a concrete drive puts a layer of protection across
the service, preventing it from stains and damage. It helps keep water out
(which can cause cracks) and stops weeds and moss from growing on it.
Can I add colour to this sealer?
Yes, absolutely, our matt concrete sealer gives great
results when you add in BergPro Colour
Tint. Select from 25 different shades and mix the powder directly into this
sealer. You won’t need much colour tint,
it colours easily so add a little at time.
What does a matt finish look like on concrete?
This sealer gives a softer, duller concrete coating finish,
when compared with our BergPro
Pattern Imprinted Concrete Gloss Sealer. It’s not as shiny or vibrant, but
has a more understated, subtle finish to it.
Will this sealer change the colour of my patio or drive?
Not on its own. This sealer dries clear, so will show off
the colour of your existing concrete surface… UNLESS you add BergPro Colour
Tint Add-In. You’ll need that if you want to change the colour of your
patio or drive.
When can I apply this sealer to my driveway?
With any outdoor sealer like this, you’ll need to wait for a
completely dry day. Any moisture in the air will interact with the sealer and
leave white marks on your driveway. Pick a dry day, with moderate temperatures.
What is the drying time?
Depending on the temperate this concrete driveway sealer
takes around 4 hours to dry before you can walk in. You’ll need to leave it at
least 24 hours before driving on it.
Will this concrete sealer stop me from slipping on my patio and drive?
No. Although our sealers do have a small amount of anti-slip
properties by their nature, if you want to prevent slips on any drive or patio,
we ALWAYS recommend adding in our dedicated
Anti-Slip. It’s easy to mix in directly to the sealer.
Can I use this sealer on concrete blocks?
It depends on the type of concrete blocks. Send us a
picture and we’ll take a look. If you’ve got block paving, we have a
dedicated block
paving sealer you might want to check out.
Do I need to clean my patio before sealing it?
Yes, the cleaner your patio, the better the results when
sealing. Our Patio
Cleaner can help make the job lightwork and get up all that dirt and grime,
ready for you to get the perfect seal.
Does a matt concrete sealer give a shiny finish?
No, matt concrete sealer isn’t the best option if you want a
shiny finish. Try our Gloss
concrete sealer if that’s the look you want.
How do I maintain my driveway after applying this sealer?
All you need to do is give it a brush and general light
clean – like a quick rinse with the hosepipe – every now and then. The sealer
will take care of the rest.
Is this a weatherproof outdoor concrete sealer?
Yes, that’s right, one that’s designed specifically for
pattern imprinted concrete. If you’re not sure about your concrete surface or
the right sealer, just send us some pictures and we’ll help you find the
best concrete sealer for your project.
When can I walk on and park on my drive after sealing?
You should wait at least 4 hours before walking on your
drive after sealing. Maybe longer depending on the weather. As for driving – we
say wait as a long as possible to allow the sealer to really firm up. Give it
at least 24 hours (but preferably 48!).
Is this concrete floor sealer suitable for plain concrete?
It really depends on the location and surface. Best to send
a few pictures over and we’ll see what we recommend.
